My Mental Health Journey:Therapy
Today I will be talking about how I'm doing on my mental health journey and where I'm at on it. Since my last post I will be honest I had some not so good days. I had some days where I had some not so good moments. I'm happy to say I had more better days than bad. All glory goes to God.
On this journey first I acknowledge my problem. I changed my habits and way of thinking. Next came getting professional help. I intended on starting therapy in January. There were current things I needed to do before I started. Then February came which is a busy month for me and my family because of our birthdays. It's also a short month. In my past I would've gave up because I didn't do it when I intended to start. I've been working on following through with what I said I would do. Plus this is something very important.
On Saturday, March 11th I had my first therapy session. I was excited to finally start therapy but I was nervous at the same time. It was my first time so I didn't really know what to expect. I only knew what I've seen on tv and what others had told me from their experience. I can say my first session went well. It was basically my therapist getting to know me and commending me for taking the step to getting help. We went over what lead me to the point of needing counseling. I went through a list of different therapist, I went back and forth on trying to find the right person. I am so happy with the choice I made. After my session I felt really good and ready for my next sesssion.
Thank you so much for checking out this post. I truly appreciate it. I will be sharing more of my mental health journey. If you have questions or comments, leave them below or email me.
